I’m Craig and I am a qualified Mountain Leader (ML Summer) with over 20 years experience. I was a secondary school teacher for over 20 years and during that time I led many individuals and groups in the Scottish hills.
My experience of teaching in the outdoors means I’m well placed to provide you with a rewarding outing which will help you build confidence and experience and provide you with the basic skills to begin exploring safely for yourself.
I firmly believe in the importance of the outdoors for health and wellbeing, recognising it as a vital place to draw breath from the modern world. My goal is to encourage and assist others in discovering the benefits of the natural world, enabling them to develop the necessary skills to undertake their own journeys into new ranges.
As well as ML(Summer) I am also First Aid qualified and an accredited Assessor for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award to Gold level. I formerly ran DofE in a large high school and have 20 years experience of supporting young people in the outdoors. I hold full liability insurance for activities within the remit of the ML(Summer) and am a member of the Mountain Training Association and Mountaineering Scotland.
